The Role

We are seeking an entrepreneurial individual to lead product definition, strategy and execution of Merit’s consumer products. If you have demonstrated experience in building consumer products, have an empathy for both consumers and the organizations they have relationships with, and want to unlock the potential of Merit to serve hundreds of millions of users, we would be excited to talk with you.

Merit is a start-up environment where you’ll be expected to roll-up your sleeves and work collaboratively with engineers, designers and other cross-functional partners. You’ll push the boundaries of what’s possible in mobile and desktop apps, how to deliver value to users while sharing in our healthy obsession for quality and attention to detail. This is a full-time position based at our headquarters in Millbrae.

Responsibilities

  • Deeply understand consumer needs, motivations, pain points and barriers to build member-focused products that drive value and delight
  • Work with a cross-functional team of product managers, designers and engineers to create and launch products that deliver meaningful value to our members
  • Obsess over consumer funnels including acquisition, activation, retention, monetization and referral
  • Develop consistent and engaging consumer messaging throughout the Merit experience, including on the web, in mobile apps, in email, and SMS
  • Be the chief advocate and voice for our members internally. Distill vision and strategy for the team and get the team excited to hit the goals
  • Build strong relationships across business development, marketing, legal and finance teams and collaborate in the launch of products
  • Define consumer success metrics and analyze performance against these success metrics
  • Be the Merit thought leader on relevant consumer experiences in the digital identity world

Qualifications

  • 4+ years experience in building consumer products with a focus on consumer-driven experiences that have scaled to millions of users
  • Strong empathy for problems facing members and passion for consumer experiences that delight
  • Experience building products across desktop and mobile environments
  • Experience creating A/B tests that optimize acquisition, engagement and conversion rates
  • Strong performance/results-orientation. Concrete examples of where you’ve driven material lifts in growth and engagement
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Experience working on an identity product
  • Experience working closely on apps across multiple industry verticals
  • Deep understanding of privacy needs of consumers
