The Role

As a marketing manager, you will oversee demand generation and customer lifecycle marketing via Hubspot marketing, sales, and customer automation. You must have a strong background in B2B and/or B2C marketing and know how to develop, execute and optimize customer partner, and consumer acquisition strategies as well as nurture, retention, cross-sell, and upsell programs. Additionally, you must be comfortable with Hubspot (for both CRM and demand gen programs) and possess web development and project management skills.


Merit is a startup environment where you will be expected to roll up your sleeves, take initiative, and get creative about finding solutions to challenges. This is a full-time position based in Millbrae, CA (Merit Headquarters). Working remotely is also an option once on-boarded.



  • In collaboration with sales, marketing, account management, and customer support, manage the development of full customer lifecycle marketing campaigns: lead, prospect nurture, opportunity and acceleration, upsell, and retention
  • Manage and structure campaigns that support paid channels such as social media, trade shows, and thought leadership in collaboration with the executive, marketing, and GTM teams
  • Coordinate, prepare and coach the GTM team for marketing created  demand and marketing influenced demand from marketing programs through project management in Hubspot and Asana platforms
  • Collaborate with the product team to understand releases and outline current client communications (operational and marketing campaigns)
  • Work with the head of marketing, design, content, and GTM team to gather campaign ideas and content, and develop performance projections to ensure alignment with target industries and sales pipeline goals
  • Develop and manage best practices and ongoing testing strategy for campaigns, lead sources, messaging, call to actions, and landing pages
  • Measure, analyze and report on key metrics to assess results and optimize campaigns
  • Maintain consistent internal communication, across meetings and tools (Hubspot, Asana, Slack), to keep the team updated and aligned on progress towards goals.


  • 3+ years of B2B marketing experience of which at least 1 year is in software marketing
  • Experience planning and executing lead generation and nurture campaigns in Hubspot as both a marketing platform and CRM system of record
  • Proficient in Google Analytics and Ads
  • Experience in reporting of key marketing metrics, such as cost per lead, customer acquisition cost, etc.
  • Superior interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills, as demonstrated through previous experience
  • Ability to prepare content and present to both formal and informal audiences
  • Ability to prioritize among competing tasks
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Demonstrated self-starter
