Need to send out (or propose) merits in bulk? Upload a spreadsheet with your merit recipient data to save time.
Before you start
- Make sure that you've already created a merit template to send to your recipients
- Have your bulk merit data organized into columns on a spreadsheet so it can be easily saved into a pre-formatted .csv file and uploaded to Merit
How it works
Step 1: Go to the Organization Portal and navigate to the Send Merits folder on the left and, at the top of the page, click the Multiple (Spreadsheet) tab.
Step 2: Select the merit template you wish to use in the Download Sample .csv section.
- Select the merit template in the dropdown box.
- Click on Download.
You now have a .csv template that includes all of the fields associated with that merit template, as well as fields that need to be filled out.
Step 3: Fill in your sample .csv file with your member information. Do not delete your column headers or the .csv file may not import appropriately.
Step 4: Once have completed your file, make sure that it's saved as a .csv file, then click Import to upload your file.
Step 5: You will be directed to an import workflow. Select the merit template that you wish to use. Merit will then show you the fields associated with this template. Once you've confirmed that you've selected the correct template, click Next.
Step 6: Merit then directs you to the Upload .csv step of the import workflow. Follow the instructions to upload your .csv file.
Once the .csv file is successfully uploaded, click Next.
Step 7: Map your column headers to the merit template fields. If you started with a .csv file downloaded from the sample .csv option, then your spreadsheet column headers should match these fields. Once you're done, click Next.
Step 8: Merit will then direct you to review your column mapping. Once you're satisfied, you can click on Propose all to propose these merits, or you can click Send all to send!
