Industry Manager, National Association

Collaboratively develop and execute a cross-functional strategy to drive adoption of the Merit platform across targeted nationwide associations.

We are looking for an entrepreneurial individual to collaboratively develop and execute a cross-functional strategy to drive adoption of the Merit platform across targeted nationwide associations. 
 
Merit is a startup environment where you will be expected to roll up your sleeves, take initiative, and get creative about finding solutions to challenges. This is a full-time  position based in Millbrae, CA (Merit Headquarters), with significant travel requirements (50% to 75%) Remote work is also an option. 
 

Responsibilities

    • Lead Market Development efforts to thoroughly understand the inner-workings of the target industry and identify key partnerships
    • Build and execute the cross-functional industry penetration strategy for national associations, working with the national, state, and regional chapters
    • Identify, onboard, and maintain key partnerships across industry stakeholders (organization managers, individual contributors, and developers)
    • Advise and support members across multiple teams (Product, Marketing, Developer Relations, Customer Success) as the internal industry liaison/expert
    • Spearhead/oversee all outreach to industry-based target organizations and users, serving as Merit’s liaison and primary representative within the industry
    • Maintain consistent internal communication, across meetings and tools (hubspot, asana, slack), to keep team updated, aligned, and progressing towards Industry goals. 
    • Explore additional expansion opportunities in near field industries

Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience3+ years project management, business development, or sales experience. 5+ years Association management or relevant leadership experience strongly preferredThorough understanding of process and needs for nationwide associationsSuperior interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills, as demonstrated through previous experienceDemonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization, including executive and C-levelStrong organizational skillsDemonstrated self-starterA passion for Merit’s mission Ability and willingness to travel throughout the country as neededExperience in political, labor, public service, or community organizing preferred but not required
