Chris Byrne, Fire Chief, City of Marco Island, FL
Chief Chris Byrne's career began in 1983 with the Marco Island Fire Control District. He served as Deputy Fire Chief, then for 33 years with Marco Island Fire Rescue Department. After Hurricane Irma, he became the FEMA liaison, acquiring $10M in Hazard Mitigation Grant Program funds. Byrne became Fire Chief of the City of Marco Island Fire Rescue Department. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Management, and an Associate's Degree in Fire Science, specializing in Incident Management. Byrne is a licensed paramedic and President of the Collier County Fire Chiefs Association.

Lauren D. Bonica is a 23-year emergency management expert providing safety and service through whole community, all hazards inclusivity. As Merit Director of Emergency Services, she coordinates efficiency and accountability. Lauren previously served as Human Services Manager for Collier County, Florida Emergency Management, Director of Emergency Management for New Jersey Primary Care Association, Emergency Preparedness Manager for Princeton University, and firefighter with Lawrenceville, NJ Fire Company. Lauren holds a Florida Professional Emergency Manager certificate and is a FEMA Master Exercise Practitioner focused on migrant, seasonal farm workers, and underrepresented populations.
